The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a non-profit association of Black health care executives founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders, and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities. NAHSE’s purpose is to ensure greater participation of minority groups in the health field. Its basic objective is to develop and maintain a strong viable national body to more effectively have input in the national health care delivery system. It has provided a vehicle for Blacks to effectively participate in the design, direction and delivery of quality health care to all people.
NAHSE will be recognized globally as the premier professional membership society for Blacks in health care management. NAHSE strives to improve the health status, economic opportunities and educational advancement of the communities we serve. NAHSE is committed to the Association goals by providing: Professional Programs/Workshops, Educational Programs, A Job Bank, Mentoring Program, Scholarships, Fellowship Opportunities, Community Service Projects, Health Policy, and Expanding Business Contracting Opportunities.
VA NAHSE Chapter Members ~ October 2022
On October 13, 2006, the Veterans Affairs (VA) National Chapter was chartered and inducted into the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE). According to Mr. Bruce Triplett, the 1st Veterans Affairs National Chapter President, it only makes sense that NAHSE, a premier health care organization for black professionals, would affiliate with individuals from the Veterans Health Administration, a premier health care organization. As the only virtual Chapter, creativity and effective use of technology has been key to promoting the mission and program goals of NAHSE and supporting Chapter Members. Chapter members interact and communicate through social media platforms and attend meetings and education sessions virtually.

Additionally, you are afforded the opportunity to network with other VA health services leaders and organizations, attend NAHSE educational conferences at a discount tuition rate, which count as Category II ACHE education credits. Furthermore, you can take advantage of mentoring services to develop professionally and guide your career inside and outside of the VA.
